The "evidence" is mixed on the subject of marijuana as a cure for cancer, excel. There is excellent documentation that it relieves the nausea and some other side effects of chemotherapy, but what exists to back the statement that it cures cancer is composed of some annecdotal evidence (testimony by people who have used it), but very little in the way of hard facts. I did a search on the subject. At the following link you can find the results. They can be divided into two categories, as you can easily see.

For the record, I do not oppose the legalization of marijuana. I believe we have wasted huge amounts of money and time fighting a war on illegal drugs, and learned nothing from our experiences with prohibition of alcohol. NOTHING AT ALL.
Now, as to the importation of cheaper drugs from Canada, I favor that. The argument that we can't guarantee the purity of those medicines is specious. If any are impure, who made them that way? The answer is that the medicines in question are being made by the same companies that make the more expensive drugs we buy here, and most times in the same batch. I dislike bullshit, and bullshit designed to keep money flowing into legiscritters campaign warchests is the worst kind of bullshit.
