Water Technologies receives US patent for Atmospheric Water Generators (AWG)

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded a patent for design and production of technologically advanced Atmospheric Water Generators (AWG) to the developer Water Technologies International.

The AWGs are equipped with an air purification input system, which can generate potable water from the humidity present in ambient air.

Water Technologies International operates through its subsidiaries GR8 Water and Aqua Pure International. The former division manufactures freestanding water factory units for home or office, and large, industrial-sized water units featuring modular designs and AWG technology to derive gallons of water daily.

"Receiving the first U.S. patent confirms the Company's intellectual property is protected and secure in the U.S.A., and other major market countries."
Patents for the technology were filed by the firm with USPTO in 2011, via the Patent Cooperation Treaty by Harris Shelton Hanover Walsh.

The technology has been patented in other countries as well, including China, South Africa and South Korea, while work is also being put in to obtain a final patent in Brazil, Mexico and India.

Water Technologies International looks to expand into the global market and intends to form collaborations with other firms for marketing, sales, distribution and financing of the product.

The approved patents from the countries allow global distribution and licensing of its product lines via approved channels.

Water Technologies CEO William Scott Tudor said: "We have been working to expand our Intellectual Property portfolio while being patient throughout this long process.

"Receiving the first U.S. patent confirms the Company's intellectual property is protected and secure in the U.S.A., and other major market countries.

"This solidifies our ability to license, market, distribute and finance our product line here in the U.S.A."
