Is Dines calling himself the Original Cobalt Bug yet?
Other than a small amount of a company I originally bought when it was doing something else, I have no cobalt related investments. Why?
The cobalt market is governed by offtake contracts, hence pricing is rarely transparent. Yes, the LSE quotes prices, but those are just guidelines with little true import.
Even more so than molybdenum, cobalt is largely produce as an byproduct of mining other metals, so the big dogs can easily ramp up production to crowd out newbies. And of course much of the existing production comes out of conflict zones in Central Africa.
The only real cobalt only investment I know of is ECS, which using its former name, symbol FCO, has been failing to develop their deposit in the US for over a decade.
Almost all the new companies crowing into the cobalt space by the dozen these days are run by shysters and pump and dump artists.
Have any of you found a decent vehicle for cobalt investing I have overlooked?
