Wife and I went to the wedding of one of her high school friends down in Austin. Been over 10 years ago. We spent a few days and were shown around some of the live music spots.

I've never been a real "metal head" and I can't stand what passes for "country" on the radio nowadays. But what seems to come out of Austin (and I really wasn't aware of it until I was there) is sort of blend of country, rock, blues, and whatever that is quite "tasty". That's my opinion anyway. There is something unique about it.
