1992. And yes, Ney was not my contemporary. However, that is where I met Dave (no last name and both have passed). He was Ney's assistant. I was on the floor for a couple weeks filling in for someone for our firm who was on vaca (?, never met the person or really know where or why he went on vacation). Dave was still working on the floor, that many years later. Dave introduced me to Ney in the early 1990s and we had many of lunches/dinners in the Beverly Hills area and taught me quite a bit. I even had Fabio come into to a Japanese restaurant asking me or Ney to move either his RR or my Jag so he can park in the owners spot. I told Fabio to go jump in a lake (I was a bit more crass)
When I was in school, I specifically took Psych just to understand the psyche of the investor. And Ney traded based on the psyche of the retail investor. It was a great combination. I really appreciated him confirming of what I already studied.
I had the order flow, I could see what retail was doing. Can see the buy and the sale or attempted sale. It was easy to figure out the masses.
