The Industry and Energy Ministry has announced another concession that will be located in the north of Albania in the Alps.
In one of its recent notice in the Public Procurement Agency pointed out that the operators concerned may submit their bids for what is known as hydropower Shale.
"Interest in hydropower use is for saddle river, between quota 486 meters above sea level to 176.00 meters above sea level, which is the maximum quota of Koman reservoir, with technical design and non-infringement of facilities envisaged to be built in this watershed, "said the ministry's documents.
But beyond the argument of granting these concessions are two problems that appear in the case of hydropower in question.
First, Shala river on which it is planned to build the power plant is one of the branches of Drin river cascade that supplies the river, which is the heart of the country's energy.
Secondly, Shala river is gaining more and more attention from tourists who choose to visit the lake Koman pack a variety of other attractions positioned in this region.
The construction of a hydropower plant on the river certainly are not expected to increase the number of tourists because the latter may find even closer thanks to the generous policy of concessions that have had over the years governments.
