My dad and I took care of his mother for 10 years at home. She had never worked and her only income was SSI. We had a home health aide come in 5 days a week for 4 hours in the morning. On weekends we were on our own. She passed away a day short of 100 at home. If we hadn't taken care of her she would have probably died in some hell hole several years earlier.

She was originally from MA and if you asked her she'd tell you her favorite team was the Boston Braves. Other then that she was pretty sharp right up to the day she passed.
