Thermal Insulation Coatings and Thermal Insulation Paint for Global Sustainability

www.synavax.com/thermal-insulation-coatings-sustainability/

Synavax™ may be based in the U.S., but many of our major projects and best customers are in Europe, Asia, Australia, India, and South America. Our thermal insulation coatings and thermal insulation paint help show plant managers how to make a factory more sustainable. We work with international customers daily and for over a decade have been helping companies around the world:

Save money
Improve worker safety
Reduce their carbon footprint
Decrease maintenance costs
All of our thermal insulation coatings, which are used for tank insulation, pipe insulation, marine insulation, building insulation and more, are water-based and non-hazardous and can ship to any port around the globe. It’s a privilege to do business internationally and we appreciate the opportunity to work with so many great people in different countries.

Amazing Thermal Insulation Coatings | Sustainability Case Studies

Global sustainability with thermal insulation coatings

Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok, Thailand

When it was first opened in September 2006, the Bangkok International Airport was the largest airport in the world by floor area (563,000 square meters or 6,060,000 square feet). It is the sixth busiest airport in Asia. Sustainability was a big part of the initial building plan and the architects and contractors working on the airport were tasked with finding sustainable, innovative materials to use in its construction.

They searched for one of the best insulation products and our Translucent PT was chosen as a superior thermal insulation coating that provided protective qualities for use over hundreds of aluminum panels that make up the airlink bridges at the airport. The insulation coating was applied by the contractor as a spray application prior to installation during construction and it offered a combination of sustainable benefits:

Thermal insulation
Energy savings
Thin film/space saving
Condensation prevention
Corrosion/corrosion under insulation (CUI) prevention
Water-based, non-toxic, low VOC product

Dye tank insulation

Corporate Sustainability Project Over 38 Factories in 28 Countries – Dye Tank Insulation

It’s very fulfilling to know our thermal insulation coating technology helped a large international textile manufacturer, and one that makes the red thread used in Major League baseball, reduce their global energy consumption by more than 10% and lessen their global carbon footprint by an estimated 2%, while providing them with energy cost savings of over $1,000,000 US annually. This major project for dye tank insulation saw the product pay for itself in less than a year. The coatings improved worker health and safety in two important ways:

Reduced the exterior surface temperature of the equipment
Reduced the heat radiated into the work environment
The company coated all their dyeing machines in 38 factories around the world with our Heat Shield™ High Heat and EPX-H2O coatings to insulate and provide moisture and chemical resistant long-term insulation. This project is an example of our Extreme Customer Support. We conducted a 4-day Application Training Program for regional managers from around the globe and showed them how to make a factory more sustainable. They then flew back and conducted training at their regional facilities and taught their maintenance teams how to do the easy thermal insulation paint application.

Mexico’s Social Security and Health Administration – Best Insulation Products for Data Center

Some of our projects go beyond just saving energy and reducing heat transfer, sometimes they can actually help save lives. The IMSS, Mexico’s Social Security and Health Administration, had a critical issue in their main data center in Monterrey, Mexico with their server room getting too hot during the summer months, which caused the servers to go into an automatic shutdown mode to avoid heat damage and data loss.

When this happened, doctors around the country that needed access to patient records on those servers couldn’t reach them when they needed to. So our Crystal roof coating was used on the roof of the data center and lowered the internal room temperature during the hottest month of the summer by an average of 27%, from an average 33.7C (92.7F) to 24.5C (76.1F), solving the issue with heat related server shutdown and ensuring that health providers could access vital patient records when they needed to.

marine insulation saves energy

Yang Ming Marine Fuel Savings for Container Ship – Top Marine Insulation

When a Netherlands based maritime services company wanted to help their client, Yang Ming Marine, they turned to Synavax™ thermal insulation coatings. The Heat Shield™ High Heat insulating and anti-corrosion coating was applied to the HFO tanks and tubular system and overcoated with a marine top coat to protect it from salt water.

The marine insulation coating reduced the diesel fuel use by 30%, reducing the daily diesel fuel use by 360 liters per 24 hours, which equates to more than 7,500 liters of diesel fuel (approximately $3,525 USD) saved during a typical 21 day round trip Asia/US/Asia journey. The cost of application and materials was $16,100 USD. The payback period was only 95 days of sailing. The insulation paint prevented CUI and preserved valuable space on the vessel.

Best Insulation Products | Global Sustainability and a Healthier Planet

Whether you live in China, Australia, Italy, Germany, South Africa, the U.S. or somewhere in between, energy savings and sustainability are smart business. An easy and affordable way to meet many energy saving, worker safety, and other sustainability goals is to insulate and protect surfaces with Synavax™ insulation coatings. Our patented technology is used everywhere from tank insulation, boilers and steam pipe insulation, marine insulation to roofs and walls as a simple, long-lasting spray-on solution that has much greater longevity than older fibrous types of insulation.

Thermal Insulation Coatings Global Sustainability | Questions & Answers
Here are a few common questions we get about Synavax™ thermal insulation paints and their uses for tank insulation, marine insulation, building insulation and more.

Q: How do I know how many coats of your thermal insulation coatings to use for tank insulation?

A: We will provide you with a recommendation based upon your surface temperature and the goals of the applications. Some typical coat coverages include:

Heat Shield™ EPX-H2O: Between 2 to 8 coats are typically used.
Heat Shield™ High Heat: Between 8-12 coats are typically used.
Heat Shield™ Translucent PT: Between 6-8 coats are typically used.
Q: Where can I use your thermal insulation paints for marine insulation?

A: Our insulation coatings can be used on the fuel oil system and piping, like in the case study above, or you can also use them on the interior hull, engine room walls, and any above water-line applications for insulation, corrosion prevention, and mold resistance.

Q: How many coats of your thermal insulation paints should I use for building insulation?

A: Building applications are pretty straight forward when it comes to number of coats. We typically recommend a 3-coat coverage for all building envelope applications, except a non-metal roof, which is a 2-coat recommendation.
