Then you still have to see how much they get out of it. Chances are big, they get most they should/could ask for. But still... it is never done before the judge say's so.
So what's in it for them.. probably less then they want. But if they settle, chances might be higher they get good customers out of it, and other companies are willing to settle also. And they have a guaranteed win.
What's in it for the I-co's? The chance to get a better deal then they get in court.
