June 18-What did I do wrong? I took the bus to the church for the beekeeper's meeting and apparently it was cancelled. The landscaping guys trimming up the grounds said they meet there on Saturday evenings. I will determine what happened Monday.
Meanwhile, more of the same, weatherwise. Piddle around in the morning, doze in the afternoon until it's time to feed CC the Calico Cat, who caught another lizard. Then a bus trip home.
Saturday morning I brought some Rosa Bianca eggplant, basil and cukes to Angelica the extra nice clerk at Woodie's.
Sunday I weeded all of the pepper patch, mulched with straw around some tomato plants next to the fence, and tied up some tomato plants. Interestingly, the volunteered plants are the most vigorous. All I did was fertilize them one time with Espoma 4-3-3.
I continue to see more little melon fruits. I won't know how many until the rest of the plants begin producing flowers.
The constant weeding I've done has paid off. I remember how overgrown the beds were at this time last year. Tilling probably helped keep them to a manageable level.
A couple of Valentine sunflower buds have opened. They will be even larger when I arrive tomorrow morning. Maybe Dreama will remember to email some images.
If it doesn't rain this evening, I will have to water the beds tomorrow morning.
Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
