I just cant see why this stock is taking such a hard hit.

The past few week several sectors have taken a very hard hit. The Purchase of the Marsh Stores in Indiana was a very solid strategic move in my opinion.

In Indiana its has always been Kroger's, Marsh or you had to hit one of the Big Box stores like Wally world, or Myers.

They could not and still to this day cannot match the quality of fruits, meats and deli items.

I have been to the Aldi stores, and honestly, I don't want to be forced to buy whatever generic type can or box product they may be able to buy in bulk that week, or an almost perished fruit with flies. ( Just saying it like I see it )

The Aldi that I know has always been what I would call the "big Lots" of food stores. For those who don't know Big Lots, lets just say, is the Dollar store outlet of food stores.

I am also not a great fan of having a foreign food chain move in and try and take a big market. I can guarantee you that it will only hurt our farmers.

They will import from their own. This too includes Lidl Don't expect to see Orange Juice from Florida or any Idaho Potato (e) E for the Dan Quale days..

I see this as a huge threat to our farming sector as well as the state of our financial stability in this country

Farming is a major backbone to our nation, God help us if we are forced to play cards with a foreign country in order to obtain basic foods. Perhaps we can trade China some Steel for a loaf of bread.. Oh excuse me that wont work...

If this happens then expect the rest of our very shaky market to fall right behind it.

Their SEC as posted isn't all that bad. Not enough to warrant the drop.

Yahoo has the resistance off it should be I believe 21/29, and there seems to have been some progressive movement overnight.

I bought into this one heavy. At age 56 I've seen Kroger's take on some heavy challenges and come out ahead.

I read were they are also in negotiations with the UFCW I'm sure that the Meat Cutters contract is up as well, but I am unsure. I only hope the don't push for too much right now. Let things settle, agree to re negotiate in a year,

I don't see Kroger going under, This could be a long hold, but I don't think it will.

Kroger has just landed a huge market with the Marsh Deal, and other grocery stores are folding. If played well, as a long... I think it will eventually outperform

For anyone who disagrees, take a trip into Aldi's and then into Kroger's give a good look at the products and compare..
Look for a Tomato from the USA, Perhaps grapes? from California, Washington Cherries..
If you happen to be lucky enough to have an Aldi that has a deep freezer in the back, Dig deep and grab one of those tempting Rib Eyes...or is that a ground meat product?

Also don't forget to look at Wally world, My last visit, to Wally World they had some well marked items on sale, but overall they have increased the price on many items gradually.

I don't know if any one remembers the Wally World promise when they were opening .... that they would never sell any items from out of the country....ALL USA ALL American.... The big bill..... be American Buy American. That worked out well ..for them..

That is really what this is all about.. Get rid of the competitors and hike up the prices

Just a rant from a long winded person..... I think everyone needs to take note of what is going on here... Kroger's has had a long tradition of helping people in need, educating our children, giving jobs to the disabled... Its obviously not perfect

But if we lose this one.. I can guarantee you we are heading for a deep fall....
