How does one get experience?

Two words: Bad choices.

A bunch of bad choices have been made. There may be more. However, enough good choices have been made to getting contracts with the likes of Ford, Volvo, and others.

I am presently out, but I am looking for indicators which I follow to move in a different direction. Those indicators are mostly positive. However, I just made a little as I keep my eyes open for the opportunity I am looking for.
