By SEC mandate NGL must open the morning it goes ex-distribution lower by the amount of the distribution. NGL will open when it's gone ex-D at 39 cents lower than the previous close. In reality, it's priced now (already) with the 39 cents removed as it went ex-D on the 4th.

I know this stuff seems complicated, I remember well being confused by date of record, mandated lower open, etc. cheer up---it'll all make perfect sense when we die.

In the quote, I was suggesting that NGL might rebound despite the lower opening. I just looked it up and NGL actually rose 60 cents on May 5th. That is highly irregular and a delightful happening.
