Concept Laser in Lichtenfels General Electric invests 100 million euros
The Super Franconian company Concept Laser, a subsidiary of the US company General Electric, wants to expand its location in Lichtenfels massively. Overall, the manufacturer of 3D printers is planning to invest at least € 100 million.

Concept Laser is one of the world's leading suppliers of machines for the 3D printing of metal components. On Monday (24.04.17) the building application for a 35,000 square meter building was placed in the town of Lichtenfels. Research and development, production, service and logistics are to be undertaken there.
400 additional jobs
According to the company, the groundbreaking could already take place in autumn. By the year 2019 the company wants to expand the number of its employees from currently 300 to 700.
ConceptLaser's machines are used for the production of complex metal components in numerous industries: so far, the customers come from medical and dental technology, the aerospace industry, tool and mold making as well as the automotive, watch and jewelry industries.
Focus on aviation
The parent company, General Electric, is particularly keen to expand its use in the aviation sector. Various materials such as stainless steel, aluminum or titanium can be processed. Concept Laser GmbH was founded in the year 2000 and is taken over by the US company General Elctric in 2016.
