This old post from - LuketheDuke(#47978-10/10/13), is also a good read; especially given his prediction regarding 600mhz came to pass:

"New comers: Wondering why this stock suddenly skyrocketed? Read some DD

Wialan Technologies is the next WiFi giant, with proprietary technology (hermetically sealed boxes and in-house coded software)1 and products that do not exist on the market (Wireless Early Warning System)2. This is not to say that competition does not exist; there are some big competitors, Cisco and Rukus to name a few. However, Wialan has encountered them before and beat them out of contracts3. What makes Wialan special is the open architecture of their equipment, ALL (unless im mistaken) of Wireless products on the market are closed architecture. Closed architecture means that the device functions for its purpose until it does not work anymore or the technology is obsolete (technology these days evolves faster than bacteria), whereas open architecture means that it is fully upgradable/repairable. Say a new radio comes out, public safety of 4.9mhz or some of the untouched bands like the old TV spectrum 600mhz (Verizon and Tmobile have big plans for that band)4 , all Wialan has to do is open the box, pop in the new radio, flash the firmware on the box and it is live. The end user saves on the CAPEX of installation and gains the advantage of evolving with technology.

An added benefit of Wialan’s equipment is how well it penetrates foliage, as in the example at pinecrest. According to the IT manager, the foliage in the park spooked some of the giants away from the bid because their equipment would perform poorly in that environment. Furthermore, the extended range of the equipment means they do more with less, keeping the cost of deployment down means availability of more projects. The added benefits coupled with the hermetically sealed enclosure means that Wialan can serve those niche markets that are not served or underserved because they are “unreachable”, such as marinas and parks. Wialan has a great foothold on marinas in South Florida, and it is even a qualified vendor in Miami-Dade County… Cisco is not (TO MY KNOWLEDGE). Now cue the Wireless Early Detection system, this is NEW as in there are NO other products like it in the market. This means $$$, the announcement was overlooked because it was badly written (Pam’s first release) and because Wialan had us spoiled rotten with the barrage of PR. It should not be taken lightly; counties don’t just invite a company to demo its technology to heads of cities, police, and lifeguards for nothing. Expect the PA system to put Wialan on the map, because again IT DOES NOT EXIST, the untouched market of beaches and parks is all ours!

Recently one of the members here on the board Wanamil, informed us that their company has Wialan equipment installed! See below for the message:

@LukeTheDuke, Our marina has 1 box with 2 radios. 1 radio supports 10 wifi cameras and the other radio provides wifi to almost 200 vessels. The picture quality is phenomenal and wifi coverage is solid. There have only been positive comments from members regarding the wifi service. This is our first wifi install, but the cameras are an upgrade from a product that is simply not comparable. Victor is a pleasure to work with and I recommend Wialan to others regularly.”

Some of the above are facts and some are my opinions, know what you own.

Please see attached presentation from Wialan, in it they describe some of the advantages to their equipment, including superior range and robustness of signal.
