Geez, my mind is cloudy??? Well I do appreciate you remaining objective to other opinions.
Sure the other passengers were gasping as the guy was dragged off, which could have easily been avoided had the guy stood up, and walked off the flight.
What I see is an airlines with a dilemma they made several attempts to correct. When they had no other choice they used a lottery system, which seemed quite reasonable to all except the guy getting his name drawn.
NOW, this is where this all goes astray, rather than him handle the situation like a mature adult and attempt to seek a peaceful resolution, he firmly refused to leave the plane, forcing the airlines to more aggressive actions. How you don't see this as created by the passenger himself is beyond me. He acted like a 3 year old, first hanging on to the seat then screaming and flopping around.
Lets put this in a different light, lets say it's one of your daughters when she was 5 and you told her it was bedtime and she had this reaction....what would you as a mother do? Give her more cookies?
