i was in this name a few years ago and barely got out alive by minimizing losses via some nimble trading. The stock created a lot of big bagholders when hedge fund guy Tang destroyed the stock via a really toxic financing wherein he made out like a bandit and everyone else was looking at 20-80% losses.
I love the science and the scientist CEO, but he and his team didn't realize, i suppose, the predatory nature of some of these hedge fund sharks like Tang.
It got so bad that at several points in time the CEO and his PR person had to actually discuss in their PRs and CCs when the Tang overhang of shares was going to come off. It took a couple of years.
I haven't followed it in the past nearly two years but if the overhang of "Tang bagholders" have also been worked out of selling the stock, then maybe it may one day have the chance to run up again.
