You don't sound off your rocker at all. In fact, your suggestion is a very logical one if it were true that JRLopehandia could mine "his property" whenever he wants. However, I think that in spite of what JRLopehandia would have us believe, there are a few troublesome little technicalities that prevent that from happening. Unconstituted Amarillos Sur concessions being one of them. And I don't buy his claim that the Tesoros concessions are "his" because his name appears in the margins as Villar's representative.

One thing that you should remember Mike: the tunnel and the Argentina side don't come into the picture at all. Those areas are the Pascua Lama mine site, which are kms away from what Jorge is after. He's already stated many times that Barrick has "moved the ore body", and presumably he says this to draw attention away from the fact that his litigation has nothing to do with the actual Pascua Lama mine. The current mine location has been there for years prior to Villar's C1912-2001 injunction, and it certainly doesn't belong to Jorge.

Like you, I would love to see JRLopehandia get out there and start sampling that golden hill. But he'd have to do it quickly and covertly because I think he'd be arrested pretty darn quickly if he was spotted. And THAT would add another really enjoyable and colourful chapter to this bizzare and twisted tale wouldn't it?!
