No way to explain it rationally but my sense is that some bigger player out there with a finger controlling a computer was expecting to jolt us retail guys. Sell a bunch of units in a flurry of trades and spook the crowd, that's how they do it.

This has been a steady occurrence of late and I frequently point to the practice as part of what I'd characterize as "The Manipulative Arts."

This morning after scarcely an hour into the trading day, I see ALDW is ahead to the tune of 14 cents and was actually higher by nine cents more, earlier.

None of this should push us to buy or sell, in my opinion---although I nearly added units when they could be had for $9.50. I feel that's an excellent price for this pick of ours.

We need to have certain price thresholds in mind always. I won't sell at pretty much any price at this time as I've got far higher sell-points in mind and anything beneath $15 just won't cut it. And that's not a target for me, either. But I'm obviously not impressed by flirtations we see daily---as the stock moves higher and/or lower.

None of this stuff is real. I think it's designed to induce us holders to worry, to fear, to expect, to question, to doubt ourselves, and probably much more but I haven't the vocabulary to express myself more bitterly. lol

When I log on to my accounts each morning, I'm prepared to face a world of floating decimals. There's nothing concrete in any of it---not until I see my targeted sell point. Since there's been no meaningful news since we last went ex-distribution, I regard these fluctuations as unfounded excursions into the lands of others focusing on controlling people like me. I'm not available to that crap as I march to my own drummer.

I'm in ALDW because of things I believe merit my investment. This highly productive smaller refiner has "done" me well over the past several years. I've been in it, for the most part, since its IPO. It has been a great profit-maker for me. With things going on in Washington that promise to add value to ALDW, I'd be crazy to fall into a trap laid by manipulative forces out there. So let them do their thing if that's what they want. We're certainly not going to change the forces of gravity otherwise known as insatiable thirsts for power and control.

Be strong, my friend. While we may not connect dots as quickly as a computer's programs, one thing is for damned sure:

No computer can function without a human's original input!

That easily makes you and me viable and unconquerable. Wear that distinction with pride for it's what distinguishes us as thinkers and doers and leaders of our own destinies.....and fortunes.

Thank you for speaking up. It's so important to us all!
