March 5-The woodpecker was on duty this morning during coffee time. It was a bit breezy, just enough for gloves and a hood under my knitcap. I sowed the Sheepnose Pimento seeds in 20 cups, with 3 left over that went into the Henry Field's grow dome. Then I filled the bowl with fresh sodium nitrate solution and added the Golden Marconi pepper seeds.

Guitar man was already at the corner with Trade Street, tuning up. I dropped by Starbucks for grounds, then headed up Tryon. The buses on Sunday run a limited schedule. I had to wait 20 minutes.

The cats were there on the ledge, waiting. They hardly ate anything. Then I saw the dish of dry food next to the project manager's RV. CC the Calico Cat followed me to the corner of the lot. I think of it as her playground. Sissy Boy, the wimped out tomcat, tagged along. Still a mama's boy.

Two peanut butter sandwiches made me sleepy, and I napped in a chair. I do this a lot on Sundays. The plants in the greenhouse were watered. I will bring a bottle of dilute fertilizer tomorrow to give the tomato plants a boost. I brought home a coffee canister of potting soil. Almost out. Tomorrow I take the train to Lowe's.

The raised bed beside the mobile office needs work -- and soon. Most of the weeds are young Lamb's Quarter plants. The leaves from young plants are actually edible. But boy do they grow tall with thick stalks and deep roots that require a madduck hoe for removal. I will walk to the 7-11 for gas and till.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
