"then it will take a fair amount of time before it is the defacto standard of care."

Count on the MD's...

As far as the public goes;

A coupla two three decades ago some institution with enough weight to get its press releases immediately in the newspapers and on news radio did a series over about a year's time with periodic reports on various food styles/ethnicities/restaurants etc to evaluate the health myths of the day (that it was possible to eat healthy eating out) about restaurant food...

Chinese wok fried fresh chicken and vegetables; restaurant vs takeout. Healthy or not?

Italian sauteed veal, pasta and cheese, with vegetables; too rich? Pizza and spaghetti, any healthier?

Popular American chain restaurant food; how bad could it be?

That periods version of fine dining; fancy French, as good for you as it is good to you?

American fast food; immediately lethal or delayed reaction?

Mexican food...

For Mexican food they did a coupla fast food chains and drive in's including Taco Bell. And they threw in a neighborhood Mexican restaurant for contrast. It turned out to be a restaurant in my city that I frequented. Of course the news was all bad for every genre and ethnicity. The Mexican food got tagged as prolly the worst. I bopped in about 4-6 weeks after the event and asked how the articles were received.

The first week or two, the maitre de said he was reproached, "Did you know that...." He answered "What! Refried beans, grilled meat fried in tortillas in cotton seed oil, with avocado and sour cream on top? Really?" And then he sat them down for their usual. He said by 6 to 8 weeks after the article came out, they were remembering that the article said their particular Mexican food was healthy. So I sat down to a coupla chimichangas and beer to cut the grease.

When Reduce It hits, expect the public to get it wrong/any fish oil will do/a can of tuna a week will.../this one's got DHA too, so it's even better/this one is the most capsules per dollar at Costco/my buddy's a vet and...

We'll get there. But it'll start on the backs of the medical establishment and Amarin's promotion and anti supplement activity.
