I have owned shares here for a while now, and just got some more this week actually, but this thought experiment is a puzzle.

Thought Experiment:

I'm the CEO of PIOI.

I can take my $500,000 salary bonus,

A. $250,000 in cash, and $250,000 as 192,307 shares valued at $1.30
or
B. $500,000 in cash and buy 192,307 shares for $38,461 (at .20)

Why would I choose A, which Ascolese, the CEO apparently did?

I wouldn't have done what they did. Option B is the hands down smart financial decision. Why would they have gone the other way?

Financially, it doesn't make sense to me. What am I missing?
