Yes, I remember that, but there is no law that says this time it has to be the same. The previous version (with their own codec) ran into real-world problems, most notably frame rate stability and IPS throttling.

I think they've solved these problems with HVEC, only to encounter higher CPU usage. But what I have seen from the latest demo's, that is being addressed, with a new iteration coming up.

Guarantees? No, I've said that all along, but I'm encouraged to see that they did manage to offload to the GPU substantially, at least that's what I noticed.
