The original buyout rumor was that Odidi gets to stay on for 5 more years to see things through. It would mean that after PODRAS completes and is successful, he no longer owns it. Odidi wouldn't want that.

How do you value PODRAS say 10 years from now? It's either worth zero dollars because it didn't work, or it's going to be the next iPhone that everybody wants. It becomes a standard of all drugs that delays or prevent overdose completely on a label. The value of PODRAS becomes limitless. That's pretty scary thought, and it certainly feels like you found the holy grail.

All the ANDAs and NDAs are just to establish credibility of their technology. You bet it's going to be hard negotiations for something like this. If I were buyer, I would want ownership of the technology rather than just licensing it for use. But you're right, Odidi isn't dumb and he knew what PODRAS is worth.

At the same time, it's hard for a big pharma to lay down billions on a technology that's not yet proven, unless they believe in Odidi. So I think they will end up in partnership in developing the technology and share profit. Because, if a big pharma helps Odidi realize PODRAS, that company isn't doing it out of good will for nothing, they want a piece of the pie. Whether it's 50/50, 40/60 or whatever both sides agrees to that's fair. That's got to be hard for Odidi to share the holy grail if you know what I mean.
