Neanderthals! The wife and I laughed over that one. She never got to meet the cavemen as we married just six years ago. She's an MSW with years doing clinical counseling. Now retired but just renewed her license via days of testing.

Yes, I guess you're right, though---geophysicists can be an unruly lot, long accustomed to calling the shots and expecting to find their wishes respected before those of others. This is undoubtedly due to their job focus---that of discovering the best opportunities for oil and gas discoveries. Their discoveries, once actualized, can easily become multi-million dollar face lifts for involved/sponsoring nations whose oil finds feed into the concept of "natco's" or national oil companies.

So, I feel for these guys who know no personal boundaries and are sometimes blinded by their self importance. Yet their mere handshakes have ushered in dreams awaiting installation in the future of indigenous natives formerly accustomed to working for $2/day. Gone is poverty, in its place---modern clothes, wristwatches, daily food, medical care, and a glimpse into how the rest of the world lives. Inequities loom larger than we can know.
