First off...The big guys (ILUMN) have huge R&D budgets, multiple partners and collaborators, impressive new , cheaper, faster sequencers, growing software and info capabilities and a brisk rate of technical advancement.
We have a slow, precise, expensive, longer read technology and we are not the only other competitor.
Ilumn can see "junk DNA " almost as well as we can generally.
The hot forefront is now epigenetic coding and the other structurally associated molecules that modify DNA.
There aren't pages missing, just the odd bit of DNA coding that gets misplaced and that is shrinking fast.
We are the little specialists and i'm betting that that's good enough.
