NASCAR Chase Format to return in 2017

NASCAR's Brian France announced today at a press conference that no changes will be made to the newly created Chase Elimination Format for the 2017 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Season. The format will include 10 Chase Races with 16 Drivers competing for the championship. 4 Drivers will be eliminated from the Chase after 3 races and the final 4 will run for the Championship at Homestead- Miami Speedway. NASCAR also stated that the driver who is leading the Points at the end of the regular season (after Fall Richmond Race), will have a free pass into Round 2 of the Playoffs. Brian France did state that there will be a few changes to the NASCAR XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series Chase Format for 2017.
