We have all heard and made mention of the proverbial fork in the road of making choices in our life. We all at times speak of this road of life that we are traveling...we sometimes say that we are walking this earthly path and we sometimes hear folks say that "its not about the destination its about the journey". And all that often tends to make reference to a warm and fuzzy or a troubling life we are living at a particular season of our life...BUT...i reckon we might think on something this morning that relates to this journey using the Bible as our GPS. You see folks...from the day we are born to the day we die...we actually do travel a road that we really and truly cant see and often are not even aware of and many folks dont even know this road exists. And that road is the road to eternity. And the road to eternity like any road is filled with smooth stretches...curves...mountains and valleys...and of course...there are a good many forks in that road. So as we enter into this New Year of 2017....and no matter how many years each of us have behind us...and for whatever time we have left here on planet earth...lets ask ourselves some serious questions. Do you have the hope and security of knowing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Do you have the peace and contentment of knowing that no matter what curve ball life throws you that Jesus will be there to hold you through it all? And as you continue to travel the road to eternity starting this New Year...do you have the blessed assurance that if this day...this week...this year you reach the end of that road that you will go to be with God in heaven for all eternity? You see folks...with this road its not only about the journey...even more importantly it is also about the destination! Make God the pilot of your life and get on the Jesus bus in route to heaven today! Opening the door to your heart and letting Jesus in is the most important decision you will ever make walking this earthly journey...the result of that decision is where destiny lies...Heaven or hell. Think about it!
