I'd be leery of such sensational stories. It doesn't mention how much Apollo invested into turning around Hostess. Or the risk they took on. What if the stock market had fallen instead of continuing to soar? Old (and wise) saying: Don't mistake a bull market for brains.

Hostess has lost a ton of market share in recent years... think Little Debbie.

We used to hear about all those "Hedge Fund Billionaires." In recent years hedge funds have shut down right and left. Buffett played a role in that decline by famously betting that most hedge funds couldn't beat simple and very low expense index funds that are available to anyone.

My pal Warren won that bet!
