I thought my post was clear but I guess not so let me state it more explicitly.

Short sellers assuming that Gene and Anil have nothing of substance left to announce may be making a mistake - a very big mistake.

There is a historical pattern to their material announcements. Look at the data using a standard method of seasonal analysis and you can see for yourself. Standard Box & Jenkins will do the trick. The seasonal spike is there. Many financial time series show some season effects but the one in the NNVC data is rare for it clarity and strength.

This does not guarantee the pattern will repeat this year but betting against, it given the short position and lack of liquidity is highly risky in my opinion.
