As a committed vodka enthusiast, I would say Marani was decent. The 'finishing' process made it an appropriate mixer with the proper ingredients, none of which was ever capitalized by Margrit & Co. - mostly because she never had any intention of selling product - just shares.

A primer for marketing a new distilled spirit exists right here in the states - Tito's. Starts in the founder's garage/barn, ends up selling $85 million plus in product annually, at about $19 per fifth, as opposed to Marani's sale price of $32. Better product, lower price. Go figure.

Margrit was completely successful in executing her plan to lure shareholders into buying the only product in which she had any real interest - shares of MRIB.
