A lot of things in my opinion. In no particular order of importance
Failure of our education system to stress American history
Lack of recent crises that generate patriotism
Television and Hollywood preaching evil about our government, politicians and corporations
Younger voters being more easily canvassed in surveys like that. I think it's a lot easier to reach 20 and 30 somethings than it was before the internet age
Much less criticism of outlandish views due to our age of political correctness.
