10+ months PFS and growing. SWOG stepped up trial sites for a reason and it wasn't for the control arm.

"Wow - it was 6 months ago that I posted about my mom and she is still going strong!! She just returned from a 10 day sailing trip around the British Virgin Islands with some friends and relatives. Right now she is sitting at the hospital for her 21st infusion of Folfirinox! She has minimal side effects - some diarrhea that is controlled with meds and fatigue. Other than that, she is eating well, gaining weight and miraculously, her hair is growing back in (it never fully fell out, but thinned considerably and she ended up cutting it very short). She is still in the clinical trial of PegPH20 combined with Folfirinox. She had the Peg dose modified once due to side effects back in May, but aside from that she is still on the same regimen since cycle number 2. As far as results go, it has been slow and steady. Her tumor marker numbers have steadily decreased and are now CA19-9 70 and CEA 2.9 (Down from >204,000 and 310 at diagnosis). Her latest scan shows that her liver lesions are "nearly imperceptible" and that her pancreatic body mass is "slightly larger but primarily cystic". It was previously described in September as "low-attenuation pancreatic mass is stable". The oncologist simply told mom that this is good news and they are continuing as planned with her regimen. Does anyone know what it means by either primarily cystic and low-attenuation? The internet is not clear and I won't be able to ask the doctor until Monday.

Thanks! We are still fighting! Christmas will be one year since diagnosis - so happy that she will be with us to celebrate!"

Never argue with a fool, for after awhile, it becomes difficult to determine which is the fool.
