Up/down although I was born in the FSU (former Soviet Union) and presently live in the Russian Federation, I actually grew up and was educated in Israel in the city of Haifa. Most of my family still lives in Israel and I was a member of the IDF (Israel Defense Force) that fought in Lebanon in 2006. I left Israel about 5 years ago because I became an engineer specializing in the energy field and the opportunities were better working for a large Russian multinational oil company. My love for Syria is quite lacking and in reality the only reason why Putin has come to the defense of Assad is to protect the Russian navy base in Tartus, Syria. The whole Syrian conflict is horrible and has shown the world that Assad is a war criminal who without a hesitation kills his own people. I think Obama was right not to launch the American missiles on Syria but that is for another discussion.
