I posted this once before. Its the email exchange between Tony Papa and Fannie Turcot (attorney for the AMF) and David Gallant (investigator for the AMF) from April of 2013 in which Tony Papa offers to work with the AMF by sharing information about his business partners in the penny stock world to "recover funds and help prosecute those who deliberately are committing a crime" in exchange for some "assistance from the AMF" on some "other matters"
The CBC/5th Avenue special referenced that very same email exchange.
This link has the actual transcript from when David Gallant and Fannie Turcot sat down with Tony Papa on April 24, 2013 (which oddly predates the emails where Tony offers up information in exchange for favors from the AMF):
A few months later the AMF came out with charges against Jean-François Amyot and a bunch of Amyot underlings (Francis Mailhot, Ian Morrice, François Vallet, Eric Boyd, Marc Gagnon and Robert Fagan). Also named in the charges were Dan Ryan and Carol McKeown
So I'm not sure what new information Tony Papa actually offered up to help with that case. I'm also not sure why they had to sit down with Tony Papa first before finally coming out with the charges.
The transcript is hard to follow because it jumps back and forth between French and English and seems out of order at times.
Amyot and many of his associates from IAB Media Inc/Hilbroy Advisory Inc had already been charged in the United States way back in 2012
Anyways take what you will from the transcript. I'm sure different people will have different opinions about what sort of relationship Tony Papa had with the AMF and how it was decided who it was okay to bust.
