Not exactly, several of the market makers have received huge fines by regulators for mis marking short sales as long. T trades are also often used to hide short sales as well. The system is rigged to be sure but I will admit since those multi million dollar fines were assessed the MM's are much more careful in what they do and how they do it. Go YIPI!!!
