SEASONALLY ADJUSTED DATA

In the week ending October 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 260,000, an increase of 13,000 from
the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 246,000 to 247,000. The 4-week moving
average was 251,750, an increase of 2,250 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up
by 250 from 249,250 to 249,500.

There were no special factors impacting this week's initial claims. This marks 85 consecutive weeks of initial claims below
300,000, the longest streak since 1970.

The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.5 percent for the week ending October 8, unchanged from the
previous week's unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending
October 8 was 2,057,000, an increase of 7,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up
