Here's another interesting flu treatment in development, ASN2:

It's interesting that "A library of 84,551 structurally diverse compounds was screened in duplicate at the National Screening Laboratory for the Regional Centers of Excellence in Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases (NSRB) (Harvard Medical School)" was done to discover ASN2 anti-influenza drug.

I still remember the discussions we had with Nanotoday telling us that nobody screens libraries of compounds to find drugs, and anyone that says different has a complete lack of understanding of how things are done:

So many "experts" here, who don't take the time to understand how things really work (myself included?), who so wrongly hurl insults. I enjoy having my assumptions challenged, since it helps me learn more about a topic. It's too bad people can't politely discuss things here, learn and share ideas with each other, and admit when they are wrong.

T-705 (favipiravir) is another interesting flu drug. It is a purine analog that inhibits RNA polymerase. I think it also was being investigated for Ebola (and multiple other RNA virsuses).
