Homeland Security got a supply of each of the vaccines that were developed in exchange for funding the GNVC work, which was done in collaboration with the Govt. scientists.

GNVC then provided the vaccines to Merial for commercialization in a partnership. They have never reported any progress in Merial advancing the vaccines to market. The vaccines are clearly superior to what's currently on the market, but I'm uncertain that Merial sees sufficient financial benefits for advancing the superior products as I believe they're largely selling the current products. I could be wrong about this. I believe that GNVC's royalty should the FMD Vaccine go to market is only about 5%, but for a company as tiny as GNVC, this could be substantial.
