The ideologies and thinking behind the Powell Manifesto previously led to 3 wars in our history, the Revolutionary War, The Civil War and World War II, long before Lewis Powell ever thought to write his memo. These wars were all preceded by crushing economic depressions.

Take note also that all these wars were about 80 years, or 4 generations apart, allowing enough time for those who suffered through them to die off and be unable to relate directly the hardships and causes of those times to the 4th generation.

It's been about 80 years since WWII. So far those conservative ideologies, such as espoused in the Powell Manifesto, are 3 for 3 in eventually causing devastating war, economic collapse and social catastrophe.

Will they be 4 for 4?

It seems our hands are tied in trying to prevent the 4th time. We seem to be just passive observers, unaware and incapable of stopping what's sure to come.
