I have one like this and can tell you that around the home it comes in real handy at night. Going outside I can go everywhere on my property and not worry about tripping over something or not seeing someone on my property.
Another use would to be to store one in the car so if you need to pull over and fix your car it leaves a hand free from using a flashlight or to walk safely down the road for help.
Haven't had experience with this actual product but I would think for the price worth a shot I may get one for the vehicles.
