I believe the problem in the past studies was that the frequency of attacks wasn't changed significantly....but if an overall decrease in morbidity of the nervous system and slower progression of disease can be demonstrated in brain scans then the drug is doing an important job...the drug is not expected to be a total cure but a way to control the disease...if anyone can elaborate on this please chime in...
