No problem, cintrix. And you are absolutely correct, generally one would not sell again on or near the ex-div date as the stock price will usually drop by the amount of the dividend. On US exchanges, it is the exchange on which the stock trades that makes the price adjustment since the amount of the dividend reduces the company's market cap, but the reduction in price will usually only occur if the dividend amount is more than 10% of the price of the underlying stock.
