I think that their fiber is still on the back burner but they need to mention it because everyone knows its the fiber that the world wants.
There are many uses like foams and gels but there is no glamor in spider silk gel.

I think amsilk is going to be one of the major players in spidersilk only because they admitted to themselves that fibers from goo is not a very profitable endevor and to instead make a business based on what is possible today.

They will let the spibers and bolt treads of the world do the experimenting. If they ever solve the issues amsilk will be able to jump on the fiber wagon just by modifying the spinning process to what others paid to figure out.
In the mean time if they can get a foam or gel product on the market they will be the source for foams and gels and have an income to survive on.
