Price won't drop much or for long if the pps stays low prior to announcement. There must be some tiny bit of people betting on early stop or else how do you explain pps doubling in the last five months?

Sure it could be due to being oversold coupled with a strong overall market of late. But it won't drop much (on continuation announcement) unless a stop gets baked in with a much higher pps.
