As someone who likes to camp and hike, it is really nice to see that companies like this are embracing Spider Silk. Patagonia and North Face are popular names and make good stuff, but there are many other companies who I believe make better gear and could easily make just as good of stuff.
I have no knowledge of any deals, but if Patagonia has aligned itself with Bolt Threads and North Face is working with Spiber, there quite a few other major players in the outdoor gear world who could still benefit from KBLB. The obvious is Columbia, but there are smaller and I would say better companies like Mountain Hardware, Marmot, Arc'Teryx, GoLite, Big Agnes..... and a really big player that has proven to go against the grain in the past, REI.
Then there are smaller speciality companies that love to use the latest technology who make custom gear like Zpacks, Feathered Friends, or Western Mountaineering who charge a premium for top of the line custom products.
I would love for Therm-A-Rest to make a virtually puncture proof sleeping pad.
Depending on the breath-ability and water proof properties, jackets could just be the tip of the iceberg for outdoor gear. If spider silk is both breathable and durable, it would be a great upgrade to the mighty, Gore-tex.

Basically what I am saying is the outdoor gear world is large enough to have many players in the game. I am not worried at all. But it would be nice to hear of some partnerships soon.
