thank you while i am an experienced investor i am far from completely knowledgeable about accounting and the valuation of assets ... i think they have an amazing asset base just from the sheer size of their holdings but as to how the assets were valued upon acquisition i am not sure but i would suspect that one part of the accounting process for deciding the initial and thus subsequent carrying value of the assets may have been the than current price of crude oil ( as well as estimated reserves cost of acquisition etc etc ) ....but be that as it may please convey to them that they owe their shareholders transparency in this interminable process of complying with their reporting obligations
