Please explain that part about removing the virus from infected cells.

My understanding is that the 'cides work outside the cells by getting the virus to attach to the 'cide prior to entering the cell.

So, this statement doesn't make much sense to me.

...his laboratory found that certain nanoviricides eliminated 99.99% of the virus from infected cells

Are they now saying that the 'cides work inside the cells? If so that is news to me.
