I remember being on a call with folks in Intel's wireless group and asking them if they planned on putting CDMA into future modems. At the time, they seemed to be of the opinion that since CDMA will eventually be phased out and weren't interested in investing in it.

Interesting that they realized that they are SOL in North America without CDMA support, hence the VIA Telecom asset buy. I don't understand what they were thinking and why they waited this long, but I'm glad they picked up those assets. Hope it doesn't take too long for them to integrate it into future modems.
