I have confidence now. I rely on the old saw: How do you get a mule's attention? Hit them between the eyes with a 2x4!
This has now occurred and the mule has begun to move. To the mule, this is a hard-learned lesson.
The risk is only that the mule may forget when the 2x4 is out of sight.
In our case, "out of sight" would be big improvement in the global economy and concomitant resulting leaps in sales and the mule begins thinking, again, let the good times roll.
OTOH, maybe the mule has a better memory and won't repeat the mistakes requiring application of the 2x4.
